Buleleng, May 11, 2025 - In an effort to maintain the cleanliness and sustainability of the coastal environment, the Buleleng Regency Tourism Office held a beach cleanup along the Kaliasem coastline. The activity took place on Sunday afternoon and involved collaboration between the Environmental Agency (DLH), Kaliasem Village Government, as well as staff and employees from a number of hotels around the area.
The beach clean-up action is to support the development of sustainable tourism and strengthen public awareness of the importance of keeping the environment clean.
Head of the Buleleng Tourism Office, Gede Dody Sukma Oktiva Askara, S.Sos., M.Si in his statement, expressed his appreciation to all parties involved. “This activity is not only about cleaning up trash, but also fostering a sense of collective responsibility for the environment, especially tourist areas which are the face of our region,” he said.
Several hotel managers also positively welcomed this activity as a form of mutual concern for the preservation of the beach which is a tourist attraction. In addition to picking up trash, this activity was also used to provide brief education to the community and tourism players about the importance of waste management and the dangers of plastic to marine ecosystems.
