Singaraja, Friday, February 28, 2025 - In commemoration of the 2025 National Waste Awareness Day, the Buleleng Regency Tourism Office attended at the invitation of the Buleleng Regency Environment Office. The event, which carried the theme “Collaboration for a Clean Indonesia”, involved various parties, including government agencies, communities, and environmental organizations.
The commemorative activity was carried out by cleaning up garbage along the road from Pura Luhur Yeh Ketipat to Pura Pucak Pedukuhan. This cleaning activity aims to raise public awareness about the importance of maintaining environmental cleanliness and encourage real action in reducing waste, especially in tourist areas frequented by tourists.
The Secretary of the Buleleng Regency Tourism Office, Putu Oka Sastra, SP, MMA, who also attended this event, revealed that cleanliness is one of the important factors that must be maintained in the tourism sector. “We strongly support this activity because environmental cleanliness is very important, both for the comfort of the community and the tourists who come to North Bali. Hopefully this activity can have a positive impact and increase awareness of all parties to maintain cleanliness around us,” he said.
This activity is not only focused on cleaning up trash, but also as a form of collaboration between the government and the community in preserving the environment. In addition, this event also aims to raise awareness about better and sustainable waste management.
With this cleanup action, it is hoped that the community will be more motivated to maintain cleanliness around their neighborhood, as well as reduce littering. The spirit of gotong-royong created at this event is expected to bring positive changes in maintaining the cleanliness and beauty of North Bali, especially the tourist area which is the main destination for tourists.
It is hoped that the commemoration of National Waste Awareness Day can become an important momentum in realizing a cleaner and healthier environment, as well as supporting the development of environmentally friendly tourism in Buleleng Regency.
