Buleleng, Thursday, April 10, 2025 - The Buleleng Regency Tourism Office attended the Quality Control Team (TPM) meeting in the context of discussing the preliminary report on the preparation of a roadmap for the development of Arabica and Robusta coffee in Buleleng Regency.
The meeting took place in the Meeting Room of the Regional Research and Innovation Agency (BRIDA) of Buleleng Regency and was attended by a number of stakeholders, including representatives from various related OPDs, academics, and business actors in the agriculture and tourism sectors.
During the meeting, the initial draft strategy for the development of superior commodities of Arabica and Robusta coffee, which is one of Buleleng's great potentials, both in terms of agriculture and as an agro-tourism attraction, was discussed. The preparation of this roadmap is expected to be a concrete step in improving the quality and competitiveness of Buleleng coffee in the national and international markets.
Representatives of the Buleleng Regency Tourism Office conveyed the importance of synergy between the agriculture and tourism sectors in developing coffee as part of a local potential-based tourist attraction. According to him, coffee tourism can be a superior alternative to attract tourists while improving the welfare of farmers.
“The development of this roadmap is very strategic, because Buleleng coffee is not only a matter of taste, but also a great potential to be packaged in an educational and sustainable tourism concept,” he said.
The meeting was closed with the absorption of various inputs from participants to refine the preliminary report, which will be the basis for the preparation of the final roadmap. Next steps will include field verification as well as further engagement of the coffee farming community and local tourism actors.
With this roadmap, it is hoped that Buleleng Regency will be able to strengthen its identity as one of Bali's leading coffee centers, while expanding its contribution to regional economic development.
