Singaraja, 29/4 - The Secretary of the Buleleng Regency Tourism Office, Putu Oka Sastra, S.P., M.MA, received a visit from the Brawijaya University research team in the meeting room of the Buleleng Regency Tourism Office. The visit aimed to coordinate and discuss the development of tourism in Buleleng, especially in the context of cultural preservation and strengthening the local economy.
During the meeting, the Brawijaya University research team expressed their interest in conducting an in-depth study on the potential and challenges of tourism in Buleleng. The main focus of their research is on the sustainability aspects of tourism based on local culture and the role of the community in the development of tourist destinations.
Putu Oka Sastra welcomed the initiative and emphasized the importance of collaboration between local governments and academic institutions in formulating sustainable tourism development strategies. He also highlighted various programs that have been run by the Buleleng Tourism Office, including training on tourism village management and videography workshops, which aim to increase the capacity of human resources in the tourism sector.
This meeting is expected to be the first step in establishing closer cooperation between the Buleleng Regency Tourism Office and Brawijaya University. Through comprehensive research and studies, it is hoped that strategic recommendations can be made for the sustainable development of Buleleng tourism based on local wisdom.
