Les Tourism Village Wins ADWI 2024 Best Tourism Village Title

Jakarta, November 17, 2024 - Les Tourism Village, located in Buleleng Regency, Bali, has won the award as the Best Tourism Village in the 2024 Anugerah Desa Wisata Indonesia (ADWI) event. This prestigious award was presented directly by the Minister of Tourism of the Republic of Indonesia, Widiyanti Putri Wardhana, accompanied by the former Minister of Tourism, Sandiaga Salahudin Uno, at the award ceremony which took place at the Tanah Airku Theater, Taman Mini Indonesia Indah, Jakarta, Sunday (17/11).

With the theme “Tourism Village Towards World Class Green Tourism”, ADWI 2024 is a concrete manifestation of the Ministry of Tourism's efforts to encourage the development of sustainable, independent, and competitive tourism villages in the global market. The program also aims to increase tourist visits to tourist villages by 30 percent per year, thereby driving the local economy.

Les Tourism Village was named the best after obtaining the highest score from all categories assessed by the Jury, namely Destination, Digitalization, Amenity, Resilience, and Institutional. In addition, Les Village's commitment to preserving the environment received great appreciation. The village was recognized for its collaborative efforts with NGOs for coral reef monitoring and rehabilitation, as well as women's economic empowerment initiatives through the formation of productive business groups.

“This award is proof that Les Village is able to present natural beauty as well as social innovations that have a real impact on the community. Hopefully this will inspire other tourism villages in Indonesia,” said Tourism Minister Widiyanti Putri Wardhana.

ADWI 2024 not only honored Les Village, but also recognized dozens of other tourism villages in various categories. This year, the event was attended by 6,016 tourist villages from all over Indonesia, which were then selected into the top 500, top 300, top 100, until finally leaving 50 Best Tourism Villages.

Les Village's success in ADWI 2024 is an important milestone in strengthening its position as a world-class green tourism destination as well as a model for sustainable tourism villages in Indonesia.
