The Anturan village area was previously part of the Pandan Banten area called Banjar Asatan. This place was a resting place (rock) for the royal entourage before arriving at the Buleleng castle. As a stopover place, over time many people began to settle in this area, especially traders (penglu) to sell and offer goods for the entourage who stopped there. In addition, to entertain the royal entourage, various arts were also developed, such as the Gambuh Dance that exists today and other classical dances. Because many settled, these traders gradually began to buy land from the sale of their merchandise.
Along with the development around the mid-1800s, many of those who had settled down built places of worship to their ancestors (sanggah/merajan). From each sanggah or merajan, they then united themselves into a pemaksan consisting of several sanggahs. With the development from year to year, the number of people occupying Banjar Asatan increased, so around the 1800s a village was built with a Village Temple, Puseh Temple and Dalem Temple equipped with a cemetery(setra) which was named Anturan village with its southern area up to the current Pasek Gelgel Temple.
