Kalibukbuk Village is a village located in the northern part of Buleleng Regency. The most famous tourist destination in Kalibukbuk Village is Lovina Beach. Lovina Beach has black sand and the location is still very natural. In the beach area, there are many traditional fishing boats lined up. But the main attraction of Lovina beach is not on the beach, but on the activity of seeing dolphins in the middle of the sea.
Lovina tourist attraction area is very famous for its wild dolphin show in the middle of the sea. On this beach there are hundreds of dolphins. To be able to see dolphins in action, you must go to the middle of the sea before sunrise. Dolphins will appear in the middle of the sea between 6 to 8 am.
Trips to the middle of the sea in Lovina waters are very popular with tourists. Lovina's sea waters are relatively calm, so it can be passed comfortably by using a fishing boat.
You can see dolphins about 1 km from the shoreline. Some are jumping tothe surface, and some are just swimming. Very interesting action of this black sea animal.
Visiting tourists can rent traditional fishing boats specifically provided for dolphin watching tours in the middle of the sea. While heading to the middle of the sea to watch the dolphin show, you can also see Lovina's beautiful and natural sea waters.
The duration of the dolphin watching activity in Lovina is about 2 hours. Fishermen will take you to the middle of the sea with traditional boats, to where dolphins often appear.
Besides being able to watch dolphin shows, diving is also available at Lovina Beach. The marine biota in Lovina is diverse and not inferior to other dive sites in Bali.
Besides Lovina Beach, the supporting tourism destination of Kalibukbuk Village is the Kalibukbuk Buddhist Stupa Temple. The discovery of this site began with the activities of a resident named I Nengah Mawa in 1994. When he was about to drain the old well that he made thirty years ago, there was an avalanche on the wall of the simur. As a result of the landslide, strange objects were found sticking around the well wall. At the bottom of the well, there was also a brick structure that was suspected to be a former building. The objects were buried about one and a half meters below ground level. After being reported to the Department of Culture by the owner of the moor A. A Ngurah Sentanu, as a follow-up to this report the Denpasar Archaeology Center immediately conducted a survey and excavation in stages. The site was surveyed and excavated in 6 stages from November 1994 to 2000 (Astawa, 1994, 2006) and continued with conservation efforts by BPCB Bali.
Currently, the Kalibukbuk stupa is functioned by the community as a medium of worship for both Hindus and Buddhists. On certain days, especially on Saraswati day, many local people come to pray at this site. This site has been researched by the Denpasar Archaeology Center, then inventoried and restored by the Bali Cultural Heritage Preservation Center.
