The cultural heritage of the Indonesian nation is very diverse, in the form of physical and non-physical heritage. One of the relics that is quite important is the inscription made from palm leaves. These inscriptions made from palm leaves are commonly found in the areas of Bali and Lombok and are still well preserved even though they have decreased in number due to damage due to age. Currently, the institution that still protects and preserves Gedong Kirtya is UPDTD Gedong Kirtya. Speaking of Gedong Kirtya cannot be separated from the services of two Dutch people, namely F A Liefrinck and Dr Van Der Tuuk who have pioneered research on culture, customs and language in Bali. This interest in studying Balinese and Lombok culture was finally followed up by L J J Caron, Dr. R Ng Purbacaraka, Dr. W R Stuterheim, Dr. R Goris, Dr. Th Pigeand, Dr. C Hooykaas with a meeting in Kintamani.
