Located on Erlangga street, this area was Ex Buleleng Harbour. The Government of Buleleng Regency seeks to highlight this ex-port area as a tourism potential. The history of this area is divided into three periods. During the Buleleng kingdom, apart from being a location for inter-island trade, this area was mostly built as a settlement for the Bugis people. In the colonial era, this area was used as the main gateway for logistics distribution flows.
Therefore, the Dutch government built many commercial buildings such as warehouses, terminals, customs, docks and bridges. As for the independence revolution, this port area often became a battleground between colonial troops and the Indonesian army and people. The Soenda Ketjil Museum was established in this area to provide information about the history of Soenda Ketjil as one of the first provinces in Indonesia. The museum building utilizes the former port office building from the Dutch colonial era. It contains historical documentation of Soenda Ketjil which can be used as educational materials and research objects for tourism objects.
