Seririt, November 5, 2024 - Held at the Meeting Hall of the Munduk Bestala Village Office, Seririt District, mentoring activities related to the protection, management, utilization, and institutional strengthening of the Geographical Indication of local Munduk Bestala durian were carried out well. This activity was led by the Head of the Buleleng Regency Tourism Office, Gede Dody Sukma Oktiva Askara, S.Sos., M.Sc., and attended by local farmers of Munduk Bestala village and expert speakers from the Mpu Kuturan Singaraja State Hindu College (STAHN).
The main objective of this activity is to build cooperation in preserving local Munduk Bestala durian, one of the natural resources that has great potential in the area. This activity aims to strive for the sustainability of local durian through replanting durian trees, as well as strengthening the promotion of local culture as a step to introduce Munduk Bestala Village as a tourist village.
With the support of the Buleleng Regency Tourism Office and the involvement of academics and the community, it is hoped that the local Munduk Bestala durian can gain recognition as a typical product with clear geographical indications, while also improving the welfare of the local community through tourism opportunities and product marketing.
