Buleleng, December 6, 2024 - Located in the meeting room of the Buleleng Regency Tourism Office, a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) on the Public Test of the Draft Regional Regulation (Perda) on the Protection and Development of the Creative Economy was held. This activity was led directly by the Head of the Buleleng Regency Tourism Office, Gede Dody Sukma Oktiva Askara, S.Sos., M.Si., accompanied by the Tourism Resources Division (SDP) of the Buleleng Tourism Office, the Head of the Buleleng Regency Dagperinkop-UKM Office, Drs. Dewa Made Sudiarta. M.Si. representative of Buleleng Culture Office, I Made Tegeh Okta Maheri and representative of STAHN Mpu Kuturan Singaraja, Nyoman Danendra Putra, A.Par., M.Par.
In this FGD, active participation came from various elements, including academics, business/private actors, creative communities, and the media. The discussion aimed to refine the draft regulation that will become the foundation in encouraging the development of the creative economy sector in Buleleng Regency.
The draft regulation is designed to achieve several strategic objectives, among others, encouraging all aspects of the creative economy in accordance with the development of creativity, cultural innovation, technology, society, and changes in the global economic environment, increasing the competitiveness and creativity of entrepreneurs and creative economy actors, increasing competitiveness, growth, diversity and quality of the creative industry, creating jobs and reducing poverty, encouraging cultural heritage in the region as economic potential and becoming a means of cultural preservation, increasing protection, development and utilization of natural resources for the creative industry in a sustainable manner and encouraging and developing the tourism industry and investment climate.
The Head of the Tourism Office, Gede Dody Sukma Oktiva Askara, said that this regulation is expected to be a strong foothold for local governments in supporting a dynamic and competitive creative economy ecosystem. “We want to ensure that every local potential in Buleleng Regency can be optimized to provide maximum benefits for the community,” he said.
With this FGD, it is hoped that input from various parties can enrich the draft regulation so that it is in line with the needs and challenges in the field. This step is part of Buleleng Regency's commitment to make the creative economy one of the pillars of regional development.
