On Thursday, November 21, 2024, Les Tourism Village, Buleleng Regency, Bali, hosted a trial activity for the Visitor Management Guide at Tourism Destinations. The event was organized by the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy of the Republic of Indonesia (Kemenpar RI) in collaboration with PT Atourin. The activity aims to support the implementation of sustainable tourism to create safe, comfortable, and environmentally friendly tourist destinations.
This activity tested the guidelines developed to manage the number and distribution of visitors, maintain the quality of the tourist experience, and preserve the environment. The event was attended by Maruli Simanjuntak from Kemenpar RI, Head of Buleleng Regency Tourism Office, Reza Permadi from PT Atourin, Head of Les Village, Head of Pokdarwis, elements of Sekaa Teruna Teruni, and community leaders.
The event began with remarks from Kemenpar RI and the Buleleng Regency Tourism Office. The technical presentation was delivered by PT Atourin, discussing strategies for managing visitor capacity and distribution of visit points. Interactive discussions also involved participants to share views and ideas.
Les Village was selected as the 2024 Best Tourism Village due to its unique endurance, successfully maintaining the management of the tourism village since the 1980s. This was a high point of the assessment by 13 national judges.
This activity was closed with the signing of a joint commitment by all parties present to support the implementation of visitor management guidelines in Les Tourism Village. This is expected to be a good first step in the development of sustainable tourism in Bali, especially in Les Village, which will benefit the local community and increase the attractiveness of the village as an environmentally friendly and sustainable tourist destination.
With the implementation of this activity, it is hoped that Les Tourism Village can become a model for other tourism villages in efficient and responsible visitor management, as well as creating a safe and comfortable tourism experience.
