Umejero Village is a forest area and is part of the Indigenous Village of Gobleg where the population is still very small. With the development of the population, the population of Gobleg Village was getting denser and denser, so to equalize the population, the power holder at that time (the gobleg innards) assigned "I Belog Punggung" with some of his followers to open rice fields in the Bukit Dua area (twin mountains). I Belog Punggung (a servant of the gobleg king) accepted the order and headed for the Gunung Kembar area. Upon arrival at Bukit Dua (Gunung Kembar) I Belog Punggung searched for springs with his followers to irrigate the rice fields to be opened. The spring was then found in the pangkung canggah area, about 2 km from the rice fields to be opened and then made an irrigation channel. Upon arrival at Battu Macepak (Batu Congkak), the irrigation canal could not be continued because it was blocked by a very large rock. Various efforts were made but I Belog Punggung's efforts were unsuccessful. Then I Belog Punggung reported the problem to the king. The gobleg king gave a stick and holy water to I Belog Punggung to overcome all obstacles found on Bukit Dua (Twin Mountain). I Belog Punggung accepted the king's gift and went straight to the macepak stone area. Before the work began, I Belog Punggung and his followers said a vow (mesangi) which contained the following: "if I succeed in completing this irrigation channel and the water can flow to the rice fields, I am able to give a rice field to the family of jeroan gobleg". Furthermore, the holy water was sprinkled on the stone barrier, then with a stick given by the king, the stone could be penetrated and the water could flow into the rice field area. I Belog Punggung and his followers planted rice and the results were abundant so that the people of Bukit Dua (Twin Mountain) lived in peace. I Belog Punggung went to the King in Jeroan Gobleg and presented a piece of rice field to the Jeroan family for the payment of his vow or sesanginya, in connection with the construction of the irrigation channel. It was from this payment of vows that the name "Umejero" emerged where Sawah means "Ume" (in Balinese) and the King's house means "Jeroan". Umejeroan eventually became Umejero. Until now places such as Gunung Kembar, Batu Congkah, Pangkung Canggah and Umejeroan are still recognized and sacred by the people of Umejero Village. And for his services I Belog Punggung was appointed Klian Subak. Such is the brief history of Umejero village and the origin of the name Umejero Village.
