Bali with its nickname as the Island of the Gods is rich in various tourist destinations, both in terms of nature, culture and artificial. Besides being famous for its beautiful beaches, Bali also has a myriad of waterfalls. Most of the waterfalls in Bali are scattered in Buleleng Regency, from east to west. Tirta Bhuwana (Buana) waterfall is a relatively new water-based natural tourist attraction developed by the tourism awareness community in Pegadungan Village.

Pegadungan Tourism Village is one of 75 newly formed tourism villages in Buleleng Regency, located in the administrative area of Sukasada District. Pegadungan Village comes from the word "adung" which in Balinese means (akur / togetherness), formed from the expansion of Padang Bulia Village in 1967. Pegadungan Village is bordered by Petandakan Village (to the north), Pegayaman Village (to the south), Silangjana/Alasangker Village (to the east), and Padangbulia Village (to the west). It is located 22 km from Singaraja City heading south via the Singaraja-Denpasar route.
